· The purpose of S.O.L. is to showcase artistic and innovative
works of women of all colors (African/African Diaspora, Alaska Native, Asian, Caribbean, European, Latin American, Maori, Native American Indian,
South Sea and Pacific Island decent) among our Rutgers University students while providing a venue of amity, cultural enlightenment, and individual enhancement
of both its members, and fellow students.
·
We are
committed to creating, inspiring, and maintaining a space that engages in community awareness and social change through
artistic and creative expression by means of community service, performance events, exhibits, lectures, support groups, open
discussions and forums.
· Finally, we intend to combine
the works of women of color artists of our past with those of our future as a tool to gain wisdom, knowledge, and inspiration
to share our histories, our struggles, and our accomplishments within the Rutgers community through our individual works of
art.
